Marking its second big-screen appearance in the US, The Philosopher King has been selected in the official competition at this year's Lighthouse International Film Festival, in Long Beach Island, New Jersey. We're extremely excited. Buy your tickets for the June 6th screening here.
What a great honour to hear that The Philosopher King has been programmed as a special presentation during this year's Bergman Week. Taking place on the island of Fårö, where Ingmar Bergman lived and worked for a large part of his life (where he shot some of his most famous work, including Persona, Shame, and Through a Glass Darkly), Bergman Week is a week-long celebration of the old master's work and legacy, and includes lectures, live music, discussions, and screenings of both Bergman's films (in his own private theatre, no less!) and new work. Some of the past guests have included Wim Wenders, Kenneth Branagh, Dardenne brothers, and Ang Lee.

Last week, competing as a Canadian feature film, The Philosopher King, was honoured as one of the ten recipients of the coveted Rising Star Award from the 2015 edition of Canada International Film Festival. Congratulations to the cast and crew!
