The Philosopher King

A FILM BY ROUZBEH NOORI

The Philosopher King is a story of reconnection and reconciliation between two estranged brothers.

The Philosopher King programmed as part of this year's Bergman Week in Fårö, Sweden

What a great honour to hear that The Philosopher King has been programmed as a special presentation during this year's Bergman Week. Taking place on the island of Fårö, where Ingmar Bergman lived and worked for a large part of his life (where he shot some of his most famous work, including Persona, Shame, and Through a Glass Darkly), Bergman Week is a week-long celebration of the old master's work and legacy, and includes lectures, live music, discussions, and screenings of both Bergman's films (in his own private theatre, no less!) and new work. Some of the past guests have included Wim Wenders, Kenneth Branagh, Dardenne brothers, and Ang Lee.

We are proud to be the only full feature outside of Bergman's own work, being presented at this year's event. Take a look at the program here: http://bergmancenter.se/en/bergman-week/, and try to attend!
